The Richmond Lolly Shop

FAQs

Are you open on weekends and public holidays?
We are open every weekend and on all public holidays except Christmas Day.
On Sundays between 10am and 3pm Richmond hosts an artisan market with fresh produce, a food van, and a selection of local arts and crafts, so Sunday is always a great day to visit!
Yes! We have a fully level entrance at the front of our store (Bridge Street entrance) and plenty of space for wheelchairs to move around. There is also space to use a wheelchair at our cafe tables if you’d like to sit in to enjoy an ice cream or coffee. Please alert our friendly staff if you need any assistance.
We are a retailer, not a manufacturer – although one thing we make in store is our delicious rocky road! Our focus is on providing the biggest range of local and international sweets and sourcing all the old favourites you remember.
We range as many locally made goodies as possible, and we love to support Australian-made. We stock Australian brands like Fyna, Pink Lady, Everfresh, Allseps, Allens, Blackeby’s, Dollar Sweets and Cooks. We also range classic Tasmanian brands like Elly’s Popcorn, House of Fudge and Federation Chocolate, alongside local jams and honeys.
The only things we import from overseas are our specialty range of Dutch licorice and English confectionery.
At this stage we don’t offer online sales, but we plan to offer our products online in the near future, so watch this space! If you don’t live near us and there is something you’d like, please feel free to give us a call and we can do a phone order for you.
We have a large range of gluten free and vegan sweets. We have lists in store you can consult to help you with your selection, and our staff are always happy to help provide more information.
Please be aware that we because we handle a large range of sweets in store, we cannot guarantee that items sold by weight from the wall or packaged by us have not had trace contact with other products.
If you are worried about allergens, we also offer a range of packaged products guaranteed to be gluten and/or animal product free.
Just about everything is sweet here at Sweets and Treats, but we do stock old-style, sugar-free fruit drops in travel tins for those who can’t indulge but just need something sweet for the road. We also have a hot nut bar with savoury goodies, as well as tea and coffee and sugar-free soft drinks.
We are always on the lookout for fantastic staff, whether junior staff looking for their first job or experienced senior staff with a range of capabilities. If you’d like to work with us, please drop your resume into store and ask to speak to a manager. Please note we cannot accept resumes by email.
Yes, we welcome large groups. Calling in advance to let us know what day and approximately what time you will be bringing a group enables us to have the right staff to serve you promptly.
We ask that school groups come into the store in smaller groups if possible. A teacher can pay in one transaction at the end if easier, or each child can have their own money to spend.
